Senior Client Associate
The candidate will work closely with Sr. Client Advisor in advising and servicing Ultra High Net Worth clients. Assist Sr. Client Advisor in all phases of the financial planning process, from design to implementation, ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews. Should have familiarity and working knowledge of the core concepts of financial planning, including tax, estate, investment, and insurance planning. Actively contribute and participate in the servicing of all clients assigned, both proactively and in response to client inquiries and requests. Anticipate and meet scheduled on-demand client needs with thorough and timely responses. Maintain a sense of ‘ownership and accountability’ for the clients the Sr. Client Advisor services; communicate clearly, maintain careful records, have attention to detail and follow compliance policies and procedures. Build and develop thorough familiarity with each designated client relationship. Attend and actively contribute and participate in client meetings; some travel required. Assist and help oversee the implementation of new client relationships. Handle operational aspects of client accounts including reporting on account holdings and investment performance, reviewing daily cash activity, and entering trade instructions. Help coordinate and prepare income tax projections, statements of net worth and other deliverables. Liaise with other teams such as Operations, Portfolio Analytics and Risk Monitoring, and Technology, to review daily processing of data in the relevant relationship accounts thus ensuring that reporting deliverables are accurate, complete, and timely Keep Sr. Client Advisor apprised of the status of client relationships and related tasks; escalate client issues as appropriate. Field general questions from clients, manage client expectations by properly balancing needs and resources with deliverables, and escalate new client requests to ensure proper scope of services is addressed.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have a BA/BS; degree/coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Statistics preferred. Non-finance majors with relevant experience are welcome to apply. A Master’s Degree (Finance, Tax, Investments) or a recognized certification (CFP®, EA, CPA, JD, CFA) (or progress towards earning such) is preferred. 5+ years operations and client service experience in banking, finance, or wealth management with exposure to Ultra High Net Worth clientele preferred. Should have experience and familiarity with core financial planning topics: income tax, estate, insurance, and investment and portfolio management. Experience in actual account servicing roles, including on-boarding of new accounts, is a particular plus. Should have strong operational background with knowledge of how things work behind the scenes. Should have strong analytical skills including an interest in investments and an understanding of investment performance and capital markets data. Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Income tax preparation and planning experience a plus. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel; ability to use Excel to organize, analyze, present and report on client information; Word, Access and PowerPoint a plus.
