Corporate Counsel
The candidate will be responsible for engaging with regulatory agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and similar state and federal regulatory agencies. Providing day-to-day advice on regulatory standards. Monitoring and advising the business of upcoming regulatory changes. Developing and improving compliance policies and procedures. Working with cross-functional teams in Legal, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Public Policy, and Public Relations to advise the business on regulatory compliance and business impact. Working collaboratively with technology teams to implement automated solutions. Retaining and managing outside counsel and outside consultants as needed. Must have 5+ years of legal experience (with at least 2 years at a law firm). Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one state Bar is required. Compliance background, preferably in regulatory litigation or advising and counseling business in regulatory requirements of OSHA and related state plans, or similar regulatory agencies is desired. A mix of law firm and in-house or regulatory agency experience is a plus. Practical experience with worker's compensation programs and employment law is also valuable.
