Program Specialist, GS 9 Duties : Overseeing and organizing the daily operations of MVP. Enrolling and consenting participants, collecting data, and serving as a critical conduit to the Program Coordinating Center. Managing the clinical and administrative support services for MVP. Supervising research assistants. Maintaining participant records. Ensuring proper collection and shipment of blood specimens per MVP protocol. Reviewing research documentation and records for completeness and accuracy. Serving as a primary point of contact with service providers for MVP. Managing and coordinating all submissions to the VA Central Institutional Review Board (IRB) and local Research and Development Committee. Preparing progress reports, presentations, and public relations strategies. Ensuring that MVP maintains compliance with all applicable regulatory concerns, including human subject protection and information security. Performing related duties as required.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification : Must have 1+ year of specialized experience that equipped with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level. Specialized experience includes: performing administrative duties in support of a research program. enrolling participants. collecting data. managing the clinical and administrative support services of a research program. acting as a liaison between research and other departments. and supervising research assistants. This experience must be detailed in resume to receive credit.
OR a master's degree, equivalent graduate degree, 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. in a related field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that number cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered an academic year of graduate study. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended. Transcripts required.
OR a combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described for the GS-09 that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position. Experience must be detailed and transcripts required.
