Director of Corporate Security
The candidate will work closely with senior management and contracted security providers to assess, mitigate and respond to security threats with the goal of protecting the people, assets and processes to make the company a First Choice destination and best in class shopping experience. Managing relationships and contracts with third party security providers, will ensure firm’s expectations in hiring, training and adherence to policies and procedures are met or exceeded. Collaborating closely with federal, state and local law enforcement, intelligence, homeland security and industry regulatory agencies and their representatives, will stay abreast of existing and emerging threats and how they may impact the company (including but not limited to criminal threats, natural disasters or city-specific events). Leveraging tools and resources, will identify and recommend appropriate measures to manage and remediate discovered or potential vulnerabilities and see recommendations through. Communicating efficiently, will disseminate security information to all levels of the company—clearly articulating and tailoring messages appropriately and communicate with executive leadership effectively and succinctly. Will actively manage company’s emergency response as well as actively engage in all crisis situations. Will pursue scalable automated security solutions that provide meaningful data to drive strategies and tactics. Working inter-departmentally and cross-functionally, will partner with key business stakeholders to influence, ensure alignment and support for security operations and initiatives. Will participate as a member and contributor of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Committee. Will provide and/or coordinate appropriate safety and security training for company employees. Through personal research, will stay keenly aware of the current trends and continually pursue enhancements or adjustments to programs, initiatives and policies to elevate the security program. Anticipate and react to real-time situations. Will manage, plan and forecast the operational and capital budgets for the company security program. Will track program performance using an organized and systematic methodology of metrics, measurement and security scorecards to report to appropriate senior leadership.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and 10 years of experience working and/or leading a corporate or government security program, or both. A degree in law, business administration, accounting and finance, security management, information systems management or criminal justice are preferred. Memberships, Licenses and Certifications Membership in recognized security organizations or other professional security associations is strongly suggested. Demonstrating exceptional ability to establish positive professional working relationships you partner with members of the security and intelligence community and possess a strong network of security resources, contacts and established relationships. Must have a proven record of delivering critical security solutions within tight time frames with multiple stakeholder groups and competing priorities. Must possess exceptional leadership skills, with experience leading visionary strategies, driving strategic plans, and using critical thinking and logic to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Must take a hands on approach to build a shared vision with others while positioning the organization for future success by identifying new opportunities, formulating objectives and priorities, and implementing plans consistent with the long-term interest of the organization. Staying keenly aware of current industry trends, evolve security strategy based on research, data, and business direction. Must be comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced, high profile, sensitive and rapidly changing environment and possess exceptional organizational and time management skills which help prioritize and manage multiple high-level projects with timelines even through frequent interruptions and changing deadlines. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365, MRI, Nexxus and are able to quickly learn company systems. Must be able to travel via commercial airlines and maintain a valid driver's license to operate own vehicle or rental car in a safe manner.
