Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent healthcare providers in disputes with commercial healthcare payers and health insurance companies regarding reimbursement issues.
  • Review and analyze healthcare reimbursement policies and practices to determine compliance and identify potential issues.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including briefs, motions, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and present oral arguments and negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather evidence, prepare case strategies, and manage case files.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding reimbursement disputes and appeals.
  • Participate in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations related to reimbursement disputes.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to resolve reimbursement issues and improve claim processing procedures.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in healthcare law, particularly in reimbursement disputes and appeals.
  • Prior experience with healthcare claims processing is highly valued.
  • Experience working in-house or with governmental payers is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal cases and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia.
