Part-time Associate Attorney
Duties: Responsible for foreclosure related matters, including review of foreclosure related notices/correspondence, title review/curative review, title resolution litigation, judicial foreclosure when necessary, and defense of foreclosure litigation. Review and preparation of bankruptcy, eviction, and general civil litigation pleadings, hearing coverage, as well as special project assignment as needed. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, which includes payment and/or reimbursement for bar dues, professional privilege tax, and CLEs. Provide services relating to foreclosure/title/bankruptcy/eviction matters. Review of foreclosure correspondence, notices, title searches, title curative resolution, preparation and review of pleadings, attendance at court hearings, as well communications with opposing counsel, judges and clerks. Assist with other duties and special projects.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: JD Degree from accredited law school and active North Carolina law license. Admission to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of North Carolina, or meeting the requirements for admission. 5+ years’ of North Carolina real estate related experience in the fields of title, foreclosure, bankruptcy, evictions, and litigation. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable substantive areas of law, North Carolina/Federal Rules of Evidence, North Carolina/Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, and Local Rules. Must be proficient in software tools, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer/Google Chrome. Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills. Must provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers Identifies and solves issues in a timely manner. Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance.
