Section Chief – Medicaid Fraud Control Unit
The candidate will review of hearing performance, and file work, scheduling and conducting timely meetings, completing annual performance appraisals, recommending promotions, hiring, discipline, or termination, and maintaining a professional and positive relationship with each staff supervised; Manage all MFCU Licensing Enforcement deputies and case analysts; including review of work performance, being available for weekly meetings, completing annual evaluations, promotions, discipline, or termination; Oversight of all Consumer Complaint investigations, including the organization and progress of investigations, analysis and disposition of investigation files and Administrative Complaints regarding licensed professionals, as well as actions filed in civil courts related to Consumer Complaint investigations. Recruit, interview, and oversee training for new staff and the enrichment training of current staff; Monitor and improve systems for the routine processing and investigation of consumer complaints and litigation cases within the Section; Act as a liaison with outside agencies and public, when needed, regarding MFCU–Licensing Enforcement issues; Represent the OAG to the public, including newspaper and media interviews where directed by the Director of MFCU; Perform other legal and administrative tasks at the direction of the Director of MFCU.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have admitted to Indiana Bar; Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; Must have ability to positively motivate all staff; Must have ability to communicate effectively with the public including the media; Must have demonstrated excellence at current/previous job assignments; Must have organizational skills sufficient to control large caseload are required; Must have outstanding work ethic; Must have ability to analyze procedures and recommend and implement creative solutions to problems; Must have demonstrated competency with rules of evidence and trial procedures; must be capable oral advocacy in both litigation and appellate settings; Must have ability to work with and manage other attorneys and support staff in and out of court; Must have ability to work well with clients, witnesses and staff; Must have strong sense of ethics, awareness of potential conflicts of interest that arise in public sector, adherence in all respects to Rules of Professional Conduct and State ethics rules; Must have working knowledge of West law, and Microsoft computer programs.
