Assistant Corporation Counsel The candidate will defend the City, its agencies and officials in tort cases brought in the New York State courts. Will participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, depositions, motion practice, court appearances and general discovery matters. Handle the pre-trial phrase of a full range of tort cases brought against the City. Focus on drafting and arguing affirmative and responsive motions, requesting document discovery, preparing discovery responses, conducting depositions and making court appearances in both Civil and Supreme Courts for preliminary and compliance conferences. Must be admitted to practice in New York and have 1+ year of civil litigation experience. Should have strong organizational, time management, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Prior municipal tort litigation and trial experience is preferred. Deadline: 28 March, 2018.
