Litigation Paralegal The candidate will work independently and under direction of attorneys in the section to support all phases of commercial litigation, arbitrations and government investigations. Will have responsibility for a wide variety of litigation related tasks, including the following: handling service of process for Litigation and other areas of the company; assisting with the drafting, issuing, and maintaining legal hold notices; setting up and maintaining electronic case files, including supporting the companyâ€™s document retention and destruction policies; and conducting legal and internet research. Work directly with outside counsel, company departments and outside vendors on all aspects of discovery, including the collection and production of electronic data. Assist attorneys in gathering information that will be provided to auditors for accounting and securities filings purposes. Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; substantial knowledge of litigation processes and procedures; and ability to work with computerized data bases and research tools. Must have familiarity with or ability to learn Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Familiarity with legal hold software, electronic case management tools, and e-discovery software strongly preferred. Prior experience with healthcare a plus. Must have College graduate. Must have ABA Paralegal Certification or comparable (e.g., law school graduate). 5-7 years litigation paralegal experience. Participation in continuing education to maintain and enhance skills is expected and supported by the company.
