Duties:

  • Lead and manage life science intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, transactional work, and litigation.
  • Develop and execute IP strategies to protect and leverage clients’ life science innovations.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, disputes, and legal proceedings related to IP rights.
  • Provide expert legal advice on IP issues, including patentability, infringement, and licensing.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, leveraging existing business to grow the firm's client base.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IP strategies with clients' business objectives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, legal developments, and technological advancements in life sciences.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record with portable and consistent books of business valued at $600,000+.
  • Extensive experience in life science IP law, including patent prosecution, transactional work, and litigation.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex IP portfolios and high-stakes legal matters.
  • Strong client relationship management skills and business development acumen.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a life science field (., biology, chemistry, biotechnology) is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar in Arizona or eligibility for reciprocity.
