Profile

HIV/AIDS Project Attorney
The candidate will work a variety of cases and will maintain the successful partnership between more than a dozen existing care coordination sites and Indiana Legal Services. Represent eligible individuals with civil legal needs related to the HIV/AIDS status. Work with care coordination sites and other agencies serving this population, including training partners on legal needs that can be served by this project. Work with community partners, law schools, pro bono attorneys. Identify and address community legal needs and potential policy changes. Collect and maintain data and create reports as required by the grant.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should be dedicated to the mission of Indiana Legal Services. Licensed to practice law in Indiana or able to become licensed under Indiana Admission Rule 6. Ability to sustain partnerships. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Negotiation skills and litigation skills essential. Second language preferred, particularly Spanish or Hakha Chin. Knowledge of poverty law preferred.
