Paralegal The candidate researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Reviews contract requests from other departments and disperse these requests within the legal department as necessary. Prepares legal documents such as briefs, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, and deeds for review, approval, and use by in-house counsel. Investigates facts and law to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordingly. Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail. Prepares affidavits of documents and maintains document file. Knowledge of real estate transactions. Maintenance of corporate books and filings. Familiarity with EEOC, FMLA and FLSA issues. Acts as law librarian, keeping and monitoring legal volumes and ensuring legal volumes are up-to-date. Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system. Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents. Corresponds with internal and external parties, including, brokers, outside-counsel, and insurance carriers.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 3+ years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant. In-house Paralegal or Legal Assistant experience is strongly preferred. Must have a high degree of professionalism and discretion with the ability to interact appropriately and comfortably with senior management. Should have ability to anticipate attorney, departmental, and organizational needs and to be proactive in completing tasks. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Should have advanced proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Sharepoint). Deadline: 31-December-2019.
