ProfileCompliance Specialist - Bankruptcy and Collections Team The candidate develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of company's products, funding arrangements, administrative processes and new business initiatives. Performs in-depth research on a variety of issues relating to bankruptcy and collection matters, including the intake process, as needed. Handles complex cases and makes decisions based on broad knowledge and experience and can manage independently on most matters. Monitors bankruptcy proceedings and handles Proofs of Claim and Preference Actions as well as the debt recovery process in collection cases. Reviews, analyzes, recommends and implements actions regarding issues in these areas. Determines necessity for attorney review and makes recommendations; most attorney review is minimal. Hires outside counsel when necessary and effectively manages that process to minimize litigation costs.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience. Must have 6+ years legal experience with proven ability to conduct in-depth research and perform complex financial and contractual analyses. Should have experience in bankruptcy and litigation proceedings. Must have excellent organizational, communication, time management and problem solving skills. May need to manage multiple, competing priorities at times. Knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code is needed. Knowledge of healthcare a plus.
