Mitigation Specialist, CSP The candidate will work with individuals charged with criminal offenses and their defense counsel to develop a client specific plan to be used by defense counsel for advocating for an appropriate plea and sentence. Responsible for life history investigations, development of individualized disposition/sentencing plans, court advocacy, and providing follow-up support by making referrals and continuing communication with clients and service providers to promote program engagement and completions.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree. JD or masters preferred. Must have commitment to and experience in working with adults and youth from diverse cultural backgrounds who are involved, or at risk of involvement, with the criminal/juvenile justice system. Strong written and oral communication and advocacy skills, attention to detail and computer literacy (word processing, e-mail, internet research, and data entry) required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Ability to gain clearance to correctional facilities required.
