Paralegal The candidate will expertly assist attorneys in all aspects of legal case preparation and file management. A primary focus will be assisting with the discovery phase of litigation. Gather and review responses and records produced by opposing counsel and other sources with relevant information. Assist in drafting routine legal documents for review and use by attorneys, prepare medical record summaries, party and witness deposition summaries, compile and prepare draft discovery response, and prepare trial notebooks. Gather and organize exhibits, documents, trial data and other materials in response to management requests, subpoenas, discovery requests, interrogatories, etc. Prepares records for expert review. Coordinates requests between multiple parties involved in case through constant communication with client, claims and attorneys through the end of the case. Equipment used will include: Telephone, calculator, copy machine, scanner, computer (software â€“ word processing, emails, creating .pdf files, docketing and document management program), FAX machine, laser printer.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 3 years of working in the position of Paralegal in a civil defense practice. Must have complete command of legal concepts, including discovery, trials, and appeals. Knowledge of complex litigation rules and procedures is essential. Must have command of Court Rules and Procedures. Must have experience in construction defect and bodily injury fields . Able to use a personal computer up to 8 hours per day. Must have a High School diploma. Preferred to have college and/or a paralegal certificate/degree from an approved training program.
