Litigation Secretary (Temp-to-Hire)
Responsibilities: Format, input, edit, retrieve, copy, scan and transmit legal documents. Prepare pleadings and discovery documents for filing and service. Schedule depositions with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court reporters. Create pleadings/discovery binders, index, organize, and file case documents. Utilize docketing/calendaring department to track court and filing deadlines. Manage Outlook calendar of all appointments, conferences and meetings. Daily review and prioritization of client correspondence and communications. Schedule conference calls and on-site/off-site meetings. Arrange and coordinate travel arrangements. Partner timesheets, expense summaries, and client bills. Handle client intakes, conflicts checks and preparation of engagement letters. Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential. Ensure excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Must have 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Should have the ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities on an extremely busy desk assignment, and extensive knowledge of litigation and trial procedures in both federal and state court. Must have extensive knowledge of litigation (e-filings) and trial procedures, and federal and state court procedures and rules; ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment; excellent technical, organizational, and administrative skills; strong interpersonal relationship skills; ability to prioritize and work independently; work well under pressure, remain flexible, be proactive, resourceful and efficient; and have the ability to work overtime, as needed. Must have proficiency in Windows 10 and Microsoft, experience working with a document management system, proficient knowledge of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. Candidate must have the ability to learn new skills and systems quickly.
