ProfileAttorney Duties: Represent victims of crime. Will focus on lawsuits against perpetrators/third parties, garnishment, debt collection, foreclosure. will focus on Landlord/Tenant (lease termination, eviction, conditions) & public housing. Will focus on U and T-visas, work authorizations, lawful status, and unaccompanied minors; language proficiency in Spanish and or Creole preferred. Will focus on bullying/harassment/hate crimes. Represent children in the child welfare system and advocate for timely permanency along with other legal needs of the child. Will be responsible for carrying a case load and advocating in court trials and other proceedings as well as in and negotiations and staffings.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree. Must be members of the Florida Bar. 1-3 yearsâ€™ experience. Litigation experience, a background in dependency law, childrenâ€™s law, or related areas such as child welfare services, and a commitment to improving the lives of children and families in the child welfare system. Requires excellent oral and written advocacy skills, a willingness to be an aggressive advocate for child client population, and travel within County. Bilingual applicants preferred.
