Legal Assistant / Paralegal Candidate will support dynamic legal team. Will sets the first impression of the firm and is thereby responsible for courteously and respectfully welcoming clients from diverse backgrounds to office. Conducting client intake after initial attorney consultation - gathering facts, analyzing documents and establishing case strategy. Assembling packets for filing with the appropriate government agency. Gathering and preparing for Request For Evidence responses. Drafting letters to agencies, courts, and clients. Communicating with government departments, outside counsel, and clients regarding status update and procedural / processing issues. Handle high volume caseload while maintaining a high level of productivity with accuracy and within a deadline. Managing and organizing client case file from start to finish * Drafting motions under attorney supervision. Performing other administrative duties such as filing, making copies, answering phones, scheduling appointments and calendars. Any other duties and responsibilities required to do the job.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Previous experience, paralegal certificate or JD Degree is required. Bilingual in an African language, preferably a Ghanian language. Multilingual a plus. Individual must be proficient in English with good writing skills. Must have a positive, welcoming and professional demeanor. Strong interpersonal skills expected. Must be highly organized and demonstrate the ability to successfully manage multiple administrative tasks, have experience with a multi-line telephone, Microsoft Office and be able to learn new software. Dependability and punctuality are both required.
Must be able to read and write in English at a professional level. Be detail-oriented and organized while multitasking in order to prioritize and meet deadlines. Must be proactive and demonstrate problem-solving skills regarding assignment. Have a willingness to be flexible, take direction, learn as well as give and take constructive criticism. Minimum typing skill of 45 WPM, solid MS Word, Excel and knowledge of general office equipment. Punctuality and professional demeanor and attire at all times. Beyond administrative tasks, will be expected to devote time to community and client outreach.
