Paralegal The candidate will provide support to the Legal and Compliance departments. Will report to the lead counsel for company. Assist in the research and analysis for a variety of compliance and legal matters to help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Analyze current business practices, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies. Offer recommendations for improvement as laws and regulations change. Partner in the development, deployment and maintenance of compliance programs and practices, including creating compliance-focused trainings and other materials for internal teams and departments. Review and assess indemnity claims and manage all aspects of the claims management process. Assist in reviewing and responding to consumer complaints, demand letters, discovery requests and subpoenas. Assess such claims and make recommendations to in-house counsel based on risk. Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, regulatory matters and other assignments. Assist in managing document preservation, collection, review and production procedures. Create and maintain litigation calendars and legal reports. Assist in research, review, analysis, drafting and approval of various documents, contracts and obligations to which the company is or may become a party. Identify and implement process improvements within the Legal and Compliance teams and with stakeholders in other departments.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification. Must have 3+ years of experience in an in-house legal department or law firm. Should be proficient with the MS Office suite of products and have the ability to learn all required business and matter management systems.
