Legal Assistant The Candidate will be responsible for Document management and organization, including saving to the network, filing, indexing and drafting correspondence. Calendaring and Scheduling . Processing business and vendor expenses. Create check requests. Draft page.line deposition summaries. Prepare subpoenas, and summarize complaint allegations. Processing Medical and Hippa authorizations. Conduct general online research using Lexis.Westlaw. Communicate directly with clients. Ability to draft pleadings. Assisting with daily office functions such as ordering supplies, etc.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 2+ years experience in a law firm setting. Familiarity with CT state court filing procedures and laws . Working knowledge of legal documents . Familiarity with litigation defense procedures. Good typing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Ability to work in a team-based setting supporting a group of attorneys. Open to taking on new responsibilities and challenging tasks. Excellent organization, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly dependable and able to work well in a team environment.
