Strategic Sourcing Contracts Specialist The candidate will support daily sourcing & contracting activities, including performing cost & price analyses, creating risk assessments, contract drafting, review, and negotiations, assisting in contract administration, incorporation of deal terms and negotiation changes within contract documents, expediting & following-up with vendors and internal stakeholders, and facilitating contract execution and data entry for tracking and aggregate contract analysis. Lead sourcing projects and assist in developing and implementing strategic programs for the sourcing and management of hardware, renewals, services, and software. Contracts related to projects typically are ordering documents, statements of work, license purchase agreements, and hardware purchase agreements. The candidate should understand those contracts’ relationship to their respective governing documents such as master services agreements, software license agreements, master hardware purchase agreements, etc. Determine optimal contract terms and pricing that drive risk mitigation and savings. Negotiate, edit (draft custom language either within vendor documents or in response to vendor’s requested changes to the firm's own templates), and execute contracts. Manage relationships with the firm's vendors and ensure efficient and transparent contracting and negotiation process to reduce costs, mitigate risk, and reduce contracting timelines. Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders to both provide transparency in sourcing projects and improve and streamline processes. Assist with creating reports using department software tools. Manage que of vendor contract requests which come into the Strategic Sourcing department. Ability to build and maintain a fundamental to proficient knowledge of our contracting systems utilized in daily support of sourcing activities.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, supply chain management, or other relevant subject area related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Paralegal certification or Juris Doctorate. Must have 5+ years of experience within a legal or sourcing department reviewing, drafting, managing, and negotiating a wide variety of international commercial contracts. Paralegal certification or Juris Doctorate will count toward years of experience. Should have the understanding of key contractual provisions related to statements of work, amendments to master agreements, technology-related master agreements (e.g., software license agreements for both SaaS and on-premises software), master services agreements, and master hardware agreements. Understanding of technology-related sourcing strategies and activities. Understanding of renewal negotiation strategies. Ability to maintain written policies and procedures for corporate strategic sourcing processes including, purchase requisitions, contract approvals, and renewals. Skilled in independently creating and generating Total Cost of Ownership (“TCO”) and “What-If” scenario financial modeling and analysis for complex comparative sourcing events. Strong negotiation, legal drafting of custom language, and communication skills. Knowledge of performing day-to-day tasks in Workday’s Strategic Sourcing and Procurement modules. Knowledge of sourcing frameworks, methodologies, and strategies. Sound quantitative and analytical skills (financial and non-financial). Strong communication and administrative skills. Excellent verbal, and written presentation skills; communication of business plans, strategies, financial results, and action plans. Judgment to plan, prioritize and accomplish goals. Ability to think ahead and be proactive. Able to manage multiple concurrent projects. Source to Pay software experience. Workday experience preferred.
