Job Overview:

A law firm based in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a highly skilled Civil Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of file workup, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and preparing pleadings. This role requires expertise in civil litigation, particularly in general liability, premises liability, transportation, trucking, and construction litigation. A Missouri law license is needed, with dual licensure in Illinois preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of civil litigation cases from inception to resolution.
• Take depositions and gather evidence to support case arguments.
• Attend court hearings and represent clients effectively in legal proceedings.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Communicate with clients to provide updates and advice on case progress.
• Develop and execute case strategies, including negotiating settlements and preparing for trial.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
• Stay current on changes in civil litigation laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on general liability, premises liability, transportation, trucking, and construction litigation.
• Missouri law license is required; dual licensure with Illinois is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex civil litigation cases.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Missouri Bar.
• Admission to the Illinois Bar is preferred but not required.

Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficient in legal research and analytical skills.
• Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and pleadings.
