Profile

As a Legal Researcher you will provide technical support to staff management, perform legal research and assist in drafting and reporting of law status.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs legal research utilizing both written and electronic sources.
  • Assists management in compiling analysis of nationwide lien laws.
  • Prepares draft memos.
  • Gathers and compiles facts and relevant legal information.
  • Work closely with outsourced lawyers on legal issues and projects.
  • Misc. projects requested on an as-needed basis
  • Research and analyze law sources (i.e., statutes, ordinances, court decisions, criminal pleadings, police reports, legal documents and articles) for use in supporting products and services related to the construction industry.  
  • Review legal documents and forms for completeness and conformance to specific requirements set forth in applicable legal codes
  • Gather factual information and perform legal research not available through routine sources
  • Perform preliminary analysis of legislative bills and research legislative histories.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required. Paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a work environment related to research.
  • Excellent computer literacy and application skills in desktop computing including, MS Excel, MS Word, and other commonly used office productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of Mac-based software such as Indesign.
  • Skilled at researching, investigating and gathering information from internet site resources.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Skilled at researching, investigating and gathering information from internet site resources.
  • Flexible and accommodating and able to go above and beyond the basic expectations when required.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and team player with high degree of confidentiality a must.
  • Legal work status in the U.S.
  • Correspond with clients and attorneys nationwide.

The most competitive candidate will have substantial customer service skills and research experience. 
 

Full Time - $21 - $25 per hour
