Compliance Coordinator The candidate will oversee the University I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification process for all new hires and rehires which includes review of all I-9 forms and acceptable identification documents for accuracy and compliance within established time requirements. Will generate and analyze system reports to track university compliance with federal I-9 regulations. Monitor employees who need to be re-verified and coordinates re-verification process with divisional contacts to ensure that expired document(s) are in accordance with legal requirements. Serve as System Administrator for E-Verify and I-9 Service Center. Responsible for resolving incomplete E-Verify cases and ensuring managers properly follow the I-9 and E-Verify processes to meet Northeastern’s compliance with federal laws and coordinates with HR Consultants as needed. Must remain current on immigration and I-9 regulations and assists in updating university processes as necessary. Coordiante University credential verifications and background checks for all applicable candidates for employment and current employees seeking promotional opportunities according to University policy. Responsible for the accurate and timely submission and reporting on all background screenings. Responsible for timely escalation of all unsatisfactory results of processed background check screenings. Serve as primary contact for process inquiries and conducts training for hiring managers and divisional contacts as needed. Monitor restricted party screening to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Supports the Customer Service Center, including special projects. Must have associates degree; Bachelors is preferred. Must have 2-4 years of experience processing I-9s or in a Legal or paralegal role preferred.
