Part-Time Temporary Paralegal The candidate will provide legal support to the Office of Legal Counsel. Will conduct research and writing projects as assigned. Will manage the flow of work and information for the Office of Legal Counsel. Will organize and draft confidential, technical and/or sensitive administrative materials. Prepare correspondence, presentation materials, reports, and documents for public information or organizational use. Will perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follow federal laws, state laws, school boards policies and professional standards.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the Office of Legal Counsel and conducting research & writing projects involving complex law issues and matters. This is a part-time, temporary position. Should have education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities; Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree with paralegal certificate preferred. Should have 4 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; Proficient skills in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Proficient in the use of legal research platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc. Demonstrated experience researching and writing legal briefs; Experience researching, compiling and summarizing data and information; Experience creating reports; Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and diplomacy; Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple, complicated and continuing assignments in a timely manner; Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and heavy workloads. Should have familiarity with the litigation process
