Training Instructor, GS 9 - 11
The candidate will conduct need assessments and task analyses to determine learning objectives. Will prepare lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives. Will be responsible for improving and modifying the training for assigned courses. Conduct training and assess progress of students in meeting desired objectives, including advising and assisting them to improve their performance. Prepare and maintain training records, progress reports, qualifications and other documentation as required to certify worker qualifications for audit and historical purposes. Develop and administer written and practical examinations. Travel Required.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing classroom instruction in the practical application of trades theories, practices and technical requirements in addition to determining instructional approach, and developing course content and student evaluations. For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector preparing lesson plans and providing classroom instruction in the practical application of trades theories, practices and technical requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education For the GS-11: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.
