Legal Assistant/Paralegal The candidate should have exceptional work ethic, be professional on all levels, conscientious, resourceful and a self-starter with a positive attitude who can work independently and as part of a team. Must have ability to draft pleadings and correspondence. Excellent grammar and proof reading abilities, strong knowledge and outstanding formatting abilities in Microsoft Word (TOC, Ps&As, etc.) is essential. Must have strong skills in: Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook. Strong skills in document and litigation management software (experience in Time Matters, PCLaw, and Trial Director, a PLUS) as well as legal specific software such as Essential Forms and Logikcull is essential. Knowledge of statutes, codes and best practices as well as familiarity with the AAA Rules of Arbitration, and the wherewithal to look up applicable statutes, court rules and administrative rules when necessary. Paralegal Certificate (preferably from an ABA Accredited Paralegal Program) with current CLE units in compliance with Business and Professions Code § 6450 is essential.
