Legal Assistant / Paralegal
Responsibilities: Managing and monitoring all Alabama Docket Matter internally from other Firm departments and externally from Courts, vendors, clients. Assure compliance with all client and court standards for handling docket matters (witness requests, appearances, exhibits, etc.). Assure that all hearings are attended or continued appropriately and notated in our system as such. Review and work all upcoming Alabama matters that are set for hearing (Trials, MSJs, Dismissal Dockets, etc.). Prepare and file (mail or E-file) all necessary pleadings to assure the matters on the Alabama docket are handled properly and timely. Review files and court websites to determine the current status of files, check service, check on submission of Judgments. Work with Court and opposing counsel to obtain dates for upcoming matters (MSJ’s, Trials, Mediations, etc.). Process, scan and distribute incoming mail. Process, scan and assure all outgoing mail.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Notary is preferred. 2+ years of office/clerical experience and/or prior legal experience. Great oral and written communication skills. Team player. Strong work ethic. Internet research abilities. Strong communication skills.
