Counsel, Global Trade Duties: Provide legal and strategic business advice to internal clients and help create a culture of compliance excellence within Global Trade. Work involves the various export/import compliance activities of the Global Trade function to provide consistent legal advice, governance, training, investigation, and preparation of voluntary disclosures, and oversight in trade compliance matters in the Business. Advise on or conduct/assist in investigations related to Sanctions and Anti-boycott requirements. Interface with the company and GTC leadership, supervise other compliance specialists as needed, conduct prompt reporting, investigation, and remediation of compliance incidents, and help implement corporate policies and procedures.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Member in good standing of a US State Bar. Must have 10+ years of a law firm or in-house legal experience with knowledge of export compliance and/or support, ideally including substantial experience in conducting internal inquiries, assessments, and investigations and preparing written reports of the findings, such as voluntary disclosures. Strong experience developing and visually communicating metrics and data analytics. Knowledge of shipping and tariff harmonization. Direct knowledge of US import and export regulations, including Customs, ITAR, and EAR regulations. Understanding of the relationships among DDTC, BIS, CBP, OFAC, and related government agencies. Familiarity with work in a global context, and ability to travel abroad on occasion.
