Manager Government and Industry Relations
The candidate will monitor relevant CFTC, SEC, Fed, FSOC, and other regulatory open meetings and events (advisory committees, roundtables, etc.) and draft reports for same day distribution to firm internal stakeholders, including senior leadership. Will forward relevant regulatory press releases and other regulatory policy development information to internal stakeholders in a timely manner. Attend meetings and conference calls to gain understanding of issues being covered; manage retention of regulatory data including comment letters and rulemakings. Similarly, monitor and report on legislative proceedings, as needed, such as hearings and markups in the House Agriculture, Financial Services, and Ways & Means Committee and Senate Agriculture, Banking, and Finance Committee, as well as floor action on bills of interest to firm Group; manage retention of legislative data including bill summaries, industry letters, and Congressional letters. Support Regulatory Managing Director in development and execution of regulatory strategy, including regulatory communications and advocacy. Prepare background, talking points, and other information needed for internal and external events. This includes preparation for executives participating in regulatory proceedings such as advisory committee meetings, roundtables and panels, regular legislative/regulatory updates for internal distribution, participation in internal and external conference calls, managing internal compliance documentation such as periodic risk reports, board reports, and presentations for conferences and other events. Manage and develop relationships with trade associations and other industry participants to advance firm Group’s advocacy and policy objectives, including participating in regular calls/meetings, conferences, development of position papers, and other advocacy initiatives.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have BA / BS degree in Business, Economics, Political Science or related discipline; JD degree or MA degree preferred. Must have 3+ years related experience in government affairs, including Capitol Hill and/or regulatory bodies, industry relations, strategy, or corporate relations. Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrated through experience developing a range of communications, presentation, and other deliverables including summaries, briefing documents, and talking points is essential. Must have excellent organizational and project/time management skills. Strategy development and execution experience is essential.
