Facility Management Specialist (Operations), GS 11 - 12 The candidate will determine priorities for facilities maintenance projects. Conduct facilities inspections to update the condition index with actual facility conditions. Use an automated information system to create, manage, monitor, update, or modify work requests, spreadsheets, and other requests pertaining to facility operations. Provide updates to Supported Commands and NAVFAC management on facility conditions and work efforts. Screen, classify and submit requests for shop and contracted work. Traveling is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
For the GS-11: Must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Providing operational support to maintain facilities and facility assets; Implementing condition-based maintenance management for facilities projects; and Analyzing unusual operating conditions and initiating corrective action to meet facility needs.
For the GS-12: Must have 1 year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Applying technical principles, directives, and methods of facility management to maintain facilities and facility assets in good working order; Applying financial regulations to determine the correct type of funding for facility and equipment issues; and Identifying, prioritizing, and initiating projects to be placed on the Maintenance Action Plans (MAPs) and Maintenance Execution Plans (MEPs) for assigned facilities and programs. Applicants for the GS-11 grade level, that do not meet the specialized experience as described above may qualify with education or a combination of experience and education, as follows:
Should have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
Must have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
Should have completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
Must have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to 100% of the qualification requirement.
