ProfileSpring Internship The intern will expect to work closely with staff members on a variety of projects, including communication, legislative, constituent, and administrative work. Intern will frequently assist with researching issues and tracking legislation as well as helping constituents and, in Washington, serving as guides on Capitol tours. Intern working in Washington also have the chance to attend committee hearings and other Congressional meetings and events, while state intern will attend public events with industry leaders, constituent groups and state and local officials. The program provides students the opportunity to learn more about the federal government, legislative process, and the issues impacting state and country. Must have completed at least one year of study in an institution of higher education. North Dakota residents and/or students studying at a North Dakota college or university receive priority in the selection process. Intern frequently assist with research, constituent casework, tracking legislation, and Capitol tours. Also have the chance to attend committee hearings and other Congressional meetings and events. Interns working in one of firm's state offices share many of the same experiences as those who intern in Washington, with an emphasis on assisting with local events and issues. Must demonstrate strong academic, communication, and leadership skills, along with an interest in the legislative process and federal government. Applicants generally are students who have completed at least one year of college. Post-graduate students and individuals from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply.
