Senior Paralegal - Litigation and Risk The candidate performs paralegal and administrative duties in connection with litigation, claims history and insurance matters, including assisting with discovery responses, preparation of insurance (new and renewal) applications, maintaining files, claims history and insurance verification letters for current and former providers, managing service of process for the system. Assists attorneys by retrieving patient information for claims and generating reports relevant to claims status, costs and progression. Provides clients with claims history and information on claims status. Process new litigation matters and assist attorneys with discovery responses. Prepare insurance (new and renewal) applications for various insurance policies, including submission of quarterly rosters to insurance underwriters and request certificates of insurance. Formulate claims history and insurance verification responses for current and former providers. Provide administrative support and complete special projects and reports. Communicate effectively with providers, attorneys and executives regarding status of litigation and insurance matters. Other related duties as required. Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have High School diploma or equivalent. Preferred - College or Post-Graduate Degree; Paralegal Certification. Required - 2-5 years of legal administrative experience, Experience working in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Must be highly organized, handle pressure well, and understand the importance of deadlines. Must also know how to relate to people in a variety of situations, be highly trustworthy, discreet, and use good judgment. Should have broader skills expectations include management, working with a variety of teams within the company, and insurance knowledge. Will also need to be proactive and able to identify issues, legal risks and potential liabilities in order to report these to the attorneys.
