Management Support Specialist Duties: The candidate provides advice and assistance to the Squadron Director on a broad spectrum of administrative, acquisition, management, financial and operational subject areas while accomplishing a wide variety of analytical assignments concerned with Squadron operations for the acquisition, management sustainment, storage and distribution of logistics technical data. Provides guidance to Squadron functions as required by AF directives or as directed by the Squadron Director. Conducts a wide variety of administrative management duties in support of the Squadron mission and operations. Conducts special projects and studies as assigned by the Squadron Director. Analyzes issues, identifies best course of action, determines impact on program area and potential problems, and recommend preventive/corrective actions. Monitors overall management effectiveness of the Squadron. Exercising independent judgment in identifying and isolating unresolved or potential deficiencies and in developing proposals for corrective or preventive actions for the Squadron Director's approval. Facilitate and Works In partnership with team members, contractors and with subject matter experts throughout the ALC, incumbent plans, develops, organizes and implements Squadron technical data activities. Works to achieve and support quality Improvement in all products and services.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate must have 1 year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-09) or equivalent providing provide advice and assistance to the Squadron Director on a broad spectrum of administrative, acquisition, management, financial and operational subject areas while accomplishing a wide variety of analytical assignments concerned with Squadron operations for the acquisition, management sustainment, storage and distribution of logistics technical data. Provide guidance to Squadron functions as required by AF directives or as directed by the Squadron Director. This experience must have been at a level of difficulty and complexity sufficient to demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of this position. It may have been gained in the private sector, volunteer service, military service, and/or government service, etc. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M in an accredited college or university. OR- Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of ALC, Wing, Group, and /or Squadron principles, practices, techniques and procedures. Knowledge of statistical techniques, which facilitates the effective preparation and interpretation of charts,graphs, reports, etc. Knowledge of the operations, products, services, needs, and goals of the technical data program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users. Knowledge of acquisition, facility, security, safety, health and environmental requirements and guidelines. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to include the ability to make formal presentations. Ability to interface with a wide range of personnel with tact, courtesy, diplomacy and professionalism. Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations to meet mission objectives within available resources. Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research. summarize results, and makes appropriate recommendations. Ability to research. analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures and advise others. Ability to apply Jean, safety, security, and health principles, practices, and procedures and to understand and apply internal management procedures.
