This role is tailored for a professional with some legal experience and adept at handling various legal duties, including preparing legal documents, conducting research, and representing clients in court. The Associate Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys and support staff to provide thorough legal services and ensure efficient case management.

Duties:

  • Begin daily by checking emails, returning messages, and coordinating with the assigned case manager.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and finalize various legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and legal proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice with the support of senior attorneys.
  • Analyze legal issues and conflicts, offering practical solutions and negotiating on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to manage cases effectively.
  • Organize and maintain client files to ensure information is accurate and readily accessible for team members.
  • Travel to various counties in the Upstate of SC for court appearances.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • An active member of the South Carolina Bar.
  • Some experience in a legal setting, with a strong preference for litigation or general practice background.
  • Proficiency in legal research and a strong ability to write and edit complex documents.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must have an active license to practice law in South Carolina.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research tools and databases.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, both written and oral.
