ProfileSafe Sport Program Manager The candidate will develop and update the firm Safe Sport program that encompasses mandatory training/education for all members, national and local policy implementation, and national background screening program. Will oversee the national reporting, investigative and adjudication process of the firm Athlete Safety Policy reports or violations including; being the primary point of contact for complaints and related questions related to all types of abuse, including sexual misconduct, managing the related administrative and legal process, serving as the complainantâ€™s advocate in the investigation and hearing process. Develop and implement internal SOP and structure for responding and investigating reports of bullying, hazing, harassment, emotional, and physical misconduct for membership abatement/termination. Collect and report program metrics (number of screenings, abuse reports, bullying reports, terminations, and banned list), communicating progress and status of policies, complaints, investigations, hearing procedures, appeals, and final resolutions and updating as appropriate to the Director, President & CEO, and Board of Directors. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for ongoing development and updating of training programs and resources for staff, Board leadership, and all member athletes, parents, and coaches. Serve as an SME for leagues, clubs, camps, and tournaments, including helping to identify and connect them with local educational partners and resources. Create and lead the planning for a biennial US Lacrosse Safe Sport Symposium for the benefit of tournaments, leagues, and clubs. Coordinate Safe Sport programs within the National Team and the National Team Development Program to ensure appropriate prevention and reporting programs are effective. Manage relationships with service providers, including background screening; pre-employment screening and reference checking; counseling services; educational program providers; investigators, attorneys, etc. Provide consistent and effective support for Safe Sport communications, across all US Lacrosse communication assets, working routinely with our Communications Team. Serve as the primary liaison with the USOC, the Center for Safe Sport, other NGBs, youth organizations, professional organizations and others in all matters related to Safe Sport issues. Occasionally attend national Safe Sport and risk management meetings to support and present the Centerâ€™s work and provide firm representation, while generating reports on the meetings and ongoing projects for firm staff and volunteers. Work with other program leaders to ensure the values and protections of the Safe Sport program are integral to all firm efforts and programs. Anticipate a 40 hour work week. Limited travel and evening/weekend work is expected.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor of Science degree is strongly preferred, in public policy, counseling, children and family studies, legal studies, social work, criminology, related degree or equivalent is needed. Should have 3+ years of professional experience relating directly to the primary areas of responsibility or related discipline including Social Services, Child Protective Services, Law Enforcement, Paralegal, Sports Safety, other related fields. Experience working with national associations or non-profit organizations is preferred, as is a familiarity with and support for lacrosse or sports programs are needed. Ability to manage a diverse project load, maintain attention to detail, and regularly communicate and build strong, positive relationships with staff and volunteers is essential. Excellent communication in technical or policy writing, ability to translate technical/legal policy into lay language is desired.
