Counsel, Intellectual Property The candidate will be responsible for supporting for the Final Control business, focusing on a multitude of pressure, isolation, and actuation technology companies. Will provide a full range of intellectual property support relating to patents, copyrights, trade secrets and licensing. Preparing, reviewing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications. Advising and assisting business units and personnel on intellectual property matters related to customer and vendor contracts. Implementing and managing patent review committees, and invention and technical paper incentive award programs. Participating in technical design assessment relating to patentability, product clearance and product liability. Reviewing and drafting commercial contracts relating to field trial prototype deployment, collaborative development programs, and independent contractors. Reviewing infringement opinions. Performing intellectual property due diligence of potential acquisitions. Preparing and reviewing non-disclosure agreement and advising personnel on related matters. Providing litigation assistance and management in intellectual property cases. Interfacing with foreign and domestic internal and external legal resources, including management of outside patent counsel. Should have Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering. Must have JD degree from an accredited law school. 4+ years of law firm and/or corporate law experience required. Should have prepared and prosecuted at least 25 patent applications. Process control industry experience preferred. Must be admitted to the USPTO. Should be licensed to practice in at least one state or the District of Columbia.
