Paralegal / Legal Assistant - Personal Injury The candidate will manage client intake for new cases. Will generate case summaries. Draft settled demand letter and prepare demand packages. Tracke medical providers and ordering records and bills. Negotiate reduction of medical bills with providers. Management of pre-litigation and litigation files, including correspondence, pleading, discovery and data. Facilitate document management program and litigation holds. Draft petitions, discovery, basic motions, correspondence and subpoenas. Prepare case timelines. Case summarization and trial preparation when necessary. Schedule client meetings, depositions, deposition preparations, mediations, trial preparation meetings, hearings, trials, and various other case-related events for the attorney. Communicate with clients, witnesses, attorneys, insurance adjusters, medical providers, expert witnesses, and consultants. Meet with clients regarding discovery and case updates. Maintain case management information in our case management database. Must have the ability to work with minimal direction and exercise strong initiative, judgment, and confidentiality. Paralegal certificate is preferred. College education is a plus. Should have 3-5 years’ Texas experience with a law firm or an in-house legal department. Organizational and professional communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel). Professional attitude and appearance. Bilingual in Spanish is not required but is a plus.
