If you are hiring laterals, value their choice of joining the firm and provide them with equal opportunities and benefit of doubt as the home-grown lawyers.Pros : The firm has high profile clients and definitely a good place to begin your practice. However, if you are joining as a lateral, be ware! The treatment you receive is completely different from the home-grown lawyers. I have seen few laterals in the M&A/PE department that survived a year!
