Senior Paralegal Duties: Play a critical role in ability to achieve goals by assisting with general commercial, compliance, and litigation matters, including, but not limited to, reviewing Non-Disclosure Agreements; assisting with the development of contract templates; providing substantive support to the Director of Compliance in the administration of Nexeo Solutions’ compliance programs; managing processes related to litigation issues; and taking on the role as the subject matter expert for Legal Tracker (Serengeti) and SAP for the legal team. Draft, review, and coordinate approval/signature of agreements for business groups under responsible attorney supervision, including but not limited to Non-Disclosure Agreements and other commercial contracts. Maintain and publish templates for various contracting activities at Nexeo Solutions, including the development of new forms and templates to meet business objectives. Assist with the completion of customer surveys, quality agreements, and other requests from the business groups by corresponding with cross-functional stakeholders. Manage regulatory and litigation processes under responsible attorney supervision: track and report on pending and closed matters, maintain matter files; issue litigation hold notices; gather, review and prepare documents for production, including delivery of subpoenas, lawsuits and employment charges. Correspond with company personnel and outside counsel to facilitate matter management with attorney supervision. Administer processes related to garnishments, subpoenas and document requests. Act as Legal Tracker (Serengeti) Administrator for the legal team, including managing matter creation and maintenance, billing, and preparing monthly invoice reports. Interface with Accounting/Finance to timely resolve questions about payments to legal vendors and support the monthly accrual and reconciliation process. Provide support to the Director of Compliance for annual compliance training content; assist in tracking annual in-person and online ethics and compliance training. Assist Director of Compliance in maintaining the company hotline, as well as other compliance policies and procedures. Assist attorneys in locating and securing personnel interviews, records, and documents in furtherance of internal investigations. Responsible for the development and oversight of company’s records management program with attorney supervision, including relevant policies and procedures and controls related to same. Assist attorneys in preparing corporate documents and other materials, including, but not limited to, PowerPoint presentations, Adobe PDF fillable forms, affidavits, and other legal correspondence. Assist with special projects, organizing files, filing systems, and SharePoint administration, along with other paralegal duties.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Paralegal certification required. 7-10 years of relevant experience. Both law firm and/or in-house experience strongly preferred. High level of integrity supported by sound judgment and ethics. Demonstrated track record of positive impact in all positions held. Self-starter with a high level of initiative and ability to provide support with minimal supervision. Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple complex and confidential tasks simultaneously. Ability to prioritize a continually changing workload to meet business needs across multiple clients/projects. “Roll up their sleeves” mentality and willingness to learn new tasks. Ability and desire to work within a team environment. Strong analytical, practical problem-solving skills. Demonstrated organizational skills. Highly professional with superior verbal and written communication skills. Robust skills in Legal Tracker (Serengeti), SAP, Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, and database management required. Experience with SalesForce.com a plus. Knowledge of the chemicals or plastics industry a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
