Bring your expertise to our Diabetes Group Legal team provide practical, efficient, high-quality commercial legal support and provide advanced legal advice directly to business partners with minimal oversight. A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. You will collaborate with business partners at all levels of management to effectively balance minimizing legal risk while enabling execution of business strategic objectives. You will be partnering with the global business units and functions, providing strategic counsel on the intersection of business and legal issues. You will provide general commercial legal support to Diabetes functions including global marketing, research & development, business development, operations, clinical, sales t. Also provide legal support on other Diabetes Group and Medtronic enterprise needs and matters as assigned. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Providing strategic counsel to business partners in various functions Contract drafting, review, negotiation, interpretation and guidance General counseling on business operations in various areas Travel Percentage: 20% or less Must Have: Minimum Requirements Education Required: JD from accredited U.S. law school and admission to state bar Experience Required: 5 years’ legal experience Specialized Knowledge/Skills Required: Experience with contracts (e.g., strategizing, structuring and negotiating) Experience providing counsel on strategic partnerships Experience with privacy laws and HIPAA Nice to Have Admission to California State Bar 8-10 years’ relevant legal experience as corporate/commercial/healthcare attorney Experience with government healthcare programs and commercial insurance providers Experience with healthcare and/or healthcare law, including Federal Healthcare Fraud and Abuse Laws (including False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Civil Monetary Penalties Law) Experience supporting M&A transactions, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures In-house experience with a medical device, healthcare, or life sciences company Experience advising senior level executives (Senior Directors, VPs, and above) About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
