Counsel The candidate support the labor and employment activities in a highly ethical, well-regarded Corporate environment. This is a hybrid role in which approximately 60-75% of the Counsel’s time will be focused on labor and employment, and related matters, while the remainder of time will be allocated among regulatory compliance and other areas to meet the needs of the legal department. Provide legal advice regarding all general employment law issues. Provide legal advice regarding organized labor matters, including representing the company in negotiating labor contracts and arbitrations. Responsible for parameter development, assembling the bargaining team, developing the bargaining strategy and serving as spokesperson in contract negotiations. Design, manage and implement employment law-related projects and programs and oversight of monitoring processes. Monitor relevant legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to employment and labor laws. Provide support on litigation and claims relating employment and labor claims. Collaborate with outside counsel on employment disputes and litigation to help move the process through resolution. Partner with Human Resources and business leaders on internal investigations and other HR related matters. Advise business clients directly including providing guidance and practical solutions for various labor and employment law issues. Develop an innovative approach to legal issues in support of strategic business initiatives and objectives. Draft and edit employment agreements, administrative responses and related documents. Draft and negotiate contracts for customers, vendors and partners. Support company compliance program and related efforts. Assist with assorted other legal team projects to address the needs of a growing company in all 50 states. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have law degree from accredited law school and member in good standing of the Bar of at least one US State with the ability to be admitted in Idaho. Should have 5 years of experience in a large law firm and/or in-house setting with a focus on labor and employment with experience working with administrative agencies (e.g. EEOC, NLRB, OSHA). Must have 5 years of experience working with organized labor unions, negotiation, arbitration, etc. Should displays a high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgement Must have excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred: 5+ years of work experience in related job function. Experience with executive compensation. Executive level management support experience.
