Bankruptcy Legal Assistant DUTIES: Responsible for all objections processes. Objection Deadline review. Review for scheduled hearings. Preparation/filing of Certificate of Service for scheduled hearing. Gathering information needed to assist in preparing objections to confirmation. Hearing Results. Responsible for Post filing Objection to Confirmations. Hearing prep/Court Calendar. Preparation and filing of status updates prior to scheduled hearing. Monitor Docket for Amended plans and review the any filed plan amendments prior to hearing. Hearing results. Order entry / Client Updates. Responsible for drafting Motions for Relief. Gathering information needed to assist in preparing objections to confirmation. Prepare the motion for relief, motion to annul and statement of default. Draft Chapter 13 Post-petition payment histories for the Chapter 13 Motion for relief. Review client histories and trustee ledgers for payment discrepancies. Responsible for Declarations of Default. Review expired Notices of Default and communicate with the client to ensure most updated figures have been received. Draft Declaration of Default for client execution and upload to client site. Monitor for executed client declarations. File client declarations with the court. Responsible for preparation of Miscellaneous pleadings. Response to Objection to Claim. Response to Motion to Sell. Responses/Objections to Motions to Determine Value.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred. 1-3 years of related experience. Understanding of the fundamentals of Bankruptcy, especially Chapter 13 plans and objections thereto. Identifies and resolved problems i a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building positive team spirit. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and attention to detail; Look s for ways to improve and promote quality. Organized and has the ability to multi-task. Must be proficient in software tools including Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet. Excellent verbal and written communication skulls required. Adaptable to change.
