Strategic Counselor, Compliance The candidate will assist with legal advice and counseling, communications, and project management on high-priority, cross-functional legal issues. Will play a key role in supporting initiatives across the company, and act as an advisor and key support to the CCO and Compliance leadership team. Support the CCO in proactively managing key priorities and initiatives across the company, including through liaison with colleagues, organizing meetings and follow-up on key issues, and helping to leverage leadership time and attention on critical matters. Provide and coordinate support with respect to company-wide management initiatives and issues, including agendas and planning Legal leadership, offsite and company-wide meetings. Conduct analysis and work with colleagues to prepare the background for meetings with key partners (e.g. identify goals and talking points, provide background on attendees, issues, problems or decisions that need to be made). Act as liaison for internal and external engagements, oversee the preparation of materials, and support opportunities to proactively engage with stakeholders on legal and regulatory developments that are important to the company. Conduct or commission research on a variety of topics, relevant issues and organizations, and synthesize this research into executive summaries with key business and communication insights. Advise on responses to legal and regulatory compliance matters across the company, and provide project management and coordination support when needed. Participate in after-action review and analysis, and develop remediation and mitigation measures. Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Public Policy, Communications, Product Teams, Human Resources, and Finance, to respond to fast-moving inquiries requiring legal support. Should have a J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US State Bar. Must have 8+ years of attorney experience, including in-house or law firm experience providing strategic advice including in regards to communications. Should also have 3+ years of experience in research and analysis. Experience in litigation communications, crisis preparation and response, or issue management is preferred. Experience leading cross-functional projects is needed.
