ProfileSpring Internship 2018 The intern will represent detainees under the supervision of the attorneys in removal proceedings. This includes appearing in immigration court hearings, preparing clients for court, preparing witnesses, drafting a number of legal briefs and making oral arguments in court. Conduct “Know Your Rights” presentations at the NWDC to groups of detainees; Conduct intakes with individual detainees. Conduct workshops to assist detainees with applying for relief. Identify legal issues and potential forms of relief for detainees. Draft pro se briefs for detainees. Perform a variety of administrative tasks. Must be first, second and third year law students. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills, an interest in immigration law. Proficiency in Spanish is must. Deadline: March 1, 2018.
