Part-time Fall Law Clerk
The law clerk will primarily assist the Center’s International Program in our attorneys’ work to combat trade in imperiled wildlife, assess treaty implementation, review public records requests, and other issues and assist with the preparation of litigation and administrative advocacy in both domestic and international fora. Will conduct legal research and writing. Prepare legal memos and assist with brief writing. Prepare filings and investigate new cases. Draft advocacy documents and policy comments. On occasion, may have opportunities to observe court arguments. Gain experience in international environmental advocacy, drawing on litigation, science, media, and grassroots organizing strategies to fight for the environment. Must be a law student who is in the second or third year of law school, or a student pursuing LL.M. to be eligible. Strong legal research and writing skills are required. Background in environmental or biological studies or related experience is preferred. Fluency in second language is desired.
