Job Overview:

The Financial Institutions Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel on banking and financial institutions regulatory matters, federal securities law, and securities offerings. The role involves supporting other attorneys on various deals, including securities offerings, drafting SEC reports, and preparing mergers and acquisitions transaction documents. The candidate should also possess a solid understanding of corporate governance principles for both public companies and the banking industry.

Duties:

  • Handle regulatory matters related to banking and financial institutions.
  • Provide legal support for mergers and acquisitions transactions.
  • Counsel clients on the requirements of federal securities law and/or bank regulatory laws.
  • Draft SEC reports and transaction documents for sophisticated public and private clients.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys on a wide variety of deals, including securities offerings.
  • Stay updated on changes in federal securities law and banking regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in banking and financial institutions regulatory matters and/or securities law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions.
  • Superior academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable client relationship abilities.
  • Membership in the DC Bar is preferred.

Desired Skills:
