Intellectual Property Paralegal The candidate will serve as a strategic member, advisor, and liaison between the company's business functions. Will serve as a resource to other team members working in concert to address multifaceted legal issues. Provide legal assistance to IP attorneys. Track status and create status reports for multiple ongoing projects. Counsel on the progress of matters. Analyze data and connects dots across multiple workstreams. Assist in preparing and analyzing IP-related agreements, including patent licenses, assignments, and non-disclosure agreements. Conduct legal, prior art, and market research on projects as directed by attorneys. Analyze and prepare reports for cross-functional business partners. Contribute to the evolution and improvement of processes and systems. Work with cross-functional teams to continually assess and update systems/processes/reports where required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate and 2+ years of IP paralegal experience OR an advanced degree. Should preferably have a Paralegal certificate or experience working with IP-related agreements and general contract terms and conditions. Project management experience is desired. Experience with substantive aspects and logistics of patent preparation and prosecution or litigation is an asset. The ability to analyze large amounts of data across multiple related work streams is a plus. The ability to understand basic engineering and scientific principles is ideal. Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is preferred. The ability to learn new technology tools is desired.
