Senior Bankruptcy Legal Assistant The candidate will assist with hearing preparation, fee applications, preparation of mailings, preparation for Creditors' Committee Meetings and the drafting of Stay Letters. Assist with the preparation and drafting of pleadings and other court papers. Cite-check and Shepardize briefs and memoranda of law. Conduct non-legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and court-related websites for case law, statutes, articles, books, and more. Ensures that all Corporate Restructuring files are maintained within Department-approved protocols and case management systems. Prepare hard copy and electronic documents to be filed with the court. Update calendar and docket, assist with practice area administration and organize and manage electronic and paper files. Bachelor's degree is required. Should have 6+ years of large law firm corporate restructuring experience. Must have knowledge of Firm operation, policies and procedures. Should have strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Must have ability to navigate various electronic databases and document repositories. Should have strong research skills and proficiency in using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER.
