A law firm seeks an associate attorney with at least 3 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance litigation to join its team in Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in advising and representing insurers, reinsurers, or intermediaries in coverage actions and reinsurance disputes. Experience with complex litigation, including coverage disputes, regulatory investigations, environmental liability, asbestos, construction defects, opioids, workers' compensation, and toxic tort claims, is highly preferred. The position offers a collaborative and sophisticated work environment with ample opportunities to engage with industry experts. A hybrid in-office and remote work schedule provides greater flexibility.

Duties:

• Represent clients in insurance coverage actions, reinsurance disputes, and related litigation matters
• Advise insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries on complex legal issues in the insurance and reinsurance industry
• Handle litigation related to coverage disputes, environmental liability, asbestos, construction defects, opioids, workers' compensation, and toxic tort claims
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients to develop effective legal strategies and solutions
• Support clients through regulatory investigations and related legal challenges
• Ensure timely and proactive management of complex litigation matters

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance litigation
• Strong technical, legal, and client service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to advocate effectively
• A team-oriented approach, emphasizing collaboration and problem-solving
• Independent and proactive, with the ability to develop creative legal solutions
• Admission to the Connecticut and/or Massachusetts Bar in good standing

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice in Connecticut and/or Massachusetts (Bar membership required)

Skills:

• Expertise in insurance and reinsurance litigation, including complex coverage and regulatory matters
• Strong client relationship management and advocacy skills
• Proven problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on creative legal solutions
